Matrix Joseph Monomyth Campbell

Now that my posterous blog is growing and I have the flu, I don't want to look back to see if I already mentioned wine and cheese with 12 folks, including Joseph Campbell at the start of a 3-day conference at my uni. I was invited as a senior Lit Major. Ha! A perk.

So, 28 years ago the revelation of his Monomyth structure of Story theory invigorated my mind, and then it was revealed that George Lucas had used it to structure the original Star Wars trilogy, but I never knew that it was also the basis of The Matrix.

Enjoy this clip.

He was a lovely, brilliant, inventive man - and dug on Jung... again. I'm really on a roll here, it would seem . I feel lucky.

Go where the myths have taken you, dear Joseph!

Funny or Not Funny?

It is part of the general pattern of misguided policy that our country is now geared to an arms economy which was bred in an artificially induced psychosis of war hysteria and nurtured upon an incessant propaganda of fear.
Douglas MacArthur

You gain strength, courage, and confidence
by every experience in which you really
stop to look fear in the face...
Do the thing you think
you cannot do.
~Eleanor Roosevelt
